About Matty

Matty Gaudreau, a remarkable individual whose warmth, kindness, and dedication always left a lasting impression on everyone he met. A gifted athlete, he excelled in various sports during his youth and his adulthood, demonstrating a competitive spirit and a love for teamwork that defined his character and made him successful in his career. 

 

After playing for the Omaha Lancers in the USHL, Matty continued his hockey career at Boston College, leading the team in points his senior year.  Following his four years at Boston College, Matty played professionally for the New York Islanders Organization, Calgary Flames Organization, The Philadelphia Flyers Organization, and overseas in Sweden. 

 

Once Matty retired from playing, he went back as a youth hockey coach to the rink where it all started. Matty was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his community and those around him. He cared about each of the players he coached and strived to be the coach that made an impact and truly wanted the best for each and every single player under him. 

 

Matty’s enthusiasm for life and his dedication to his family and friends were evident in everything he did.

 

In celebrating Matty’s legacy, we remember him as a devoted husband, a doting father, a loving son and brother, a caring friend and a passionate advocate for others. His impact will forever be felt through his wife Madeline, son Tripp, the lives he touched and through the mission of our foundation.
