A Brand Built on Legacy & Purpose

The John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation logo carries a story of both legacy and purpose.

In the logo design, the J and M represent John and Matthew, with the J shaped as a hockey stick—honoring their love for the game. Three stripes cut across the mark, symbolizing the Foundation's three-pillar mission: to uplift youth hockey initiatives, support hockey families who have faced tragedy, and stand with families impacted by drunk and reckless driving.

The black and white palette speaks to life's contrasts—the darkness of loss and the light of hope that rises from it. Green, Matty's favorite color, adds a meaningful and personal accent to the brand.

Beyond the primary logo, a collection of brand accents extends the story and creates a versatile visual language. The four-star lockup represents John and Matty's four children, keeping family at the heart of the Foundation's identity. The star and three-stripe accent brings together two important symbols: the star representing John and Matty, and the three stripes representing the Foundation's three-pillar mission.

Together, these elements create a brand that is understated yet bold, personal yet purposeful. They give the Foundation a distinctive visual identity that can live beyond the logo—from event materials and digital communications to apparel and merchandise. Most importantly, the designs were created to feel authentic to John and Matty: a brand they would have been proud to wear, share, and carry forward.
