We’re proud to announce the first-ever grant from the John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation, awarded to Ohio Sled Hockey, in support of providing individuals with physical limitations the opportunity to learn about and participate in the sport of hockey. The grant was presented at the OSH tournament on January 17, 2026. This moment honors John & Matty’s legacy — and it’s only the beginning.

“To me, sled hockey is more than just a sport. It’s a place of family, dedication, and most of all a place I can feel free. The weight of the stresses of the week lift off my shoulders with every push I take. The sounds of our sticks remind me of a friend who understands like a reassuring melody.”
Isaac Hinkle, age 14
Player, Columbus Blades Sled Hockey
"To me, sled hockey is more than a sport. It gives me a place where I can truly be myself, builds my confidence to push my limits, and proves that my disability does not hold me back. Sled hockey has given me lifelong friendships that have shaped who I am, both on and off the ice.”
Kiera Cheatham, age 12
